A FAMILY BUSINESS, 20 YEARS ON

ABC Heavy Engineering is a locally owned and operated Smith family business that has been building, repairing and maintaining heavy equipment in the Mackay region for more than 20 years. We invest in our people. Apprentices learn alongside tradespeople with decades of dragline and gear case experience that is unparalleled in the Bowen Basin.

We run rosters built around real life, with even-time options on some site roles so you get genuine time at home. Site rosters can come with meals and accommodation provided.

GENUINE VARIETY OF WORK

No two weeks look the same. One job is an in situ dragline drum rebuild in the Bowen Basin, the next is a sugar mill shutdown, gear cutting to 5.5 metres, or a slew bearing rebuilt to OEM specification on a borer with 13 metres of travel. Across seven integrated departments and our field division, there's always something to learn.
